About the event
At the next meeting of the Edmonds Civic Roundtable, two Edmonds School District teacher-librarians who specialize in media literacy will share their expertise on how social media, artificial intelligence and algorithms influence information.
Deborah Fournier and Stacy Wright, were among a group of teachers who received a Digital Citizenship Project Grant and helped develop a curriculum for media literacy being used in the Edmonds School District.
They will share what they have learned – aimed particularly at adult learners – at the Roundtable’s monthly meeting, June 1, focusing on how to question sources, recognize bias and understand how information is created and shared. Attendees are invited to bring a laptop, tablet or other device to practice applying the strategies presented.
